Pondo ''Pete'' Vlasheff, 81, died Sunday at Lutheran Hospital. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a quality control inspector with General Electric Company for 43 years and retired in 1984. He was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #82, GE Quarter Century Club, 40 & 8, Travelers Protective Association (T.P.A.), F.O.P., Korean War Veterans Association, AMVETS and Zion Lutheran Church. He was an active board member for 12 years with the War Memorial Shrine. Survivors include companion, Eleanor Gligor of Fort Wayne; two nieces, Janice Partin of Hoagland and Sharon Helmsing of Fort Wayne; two great nephews, Michael Mouton and Eric Mouton, both of Fort Wayne; great niece, Ashley Partin of Hoagland. Services 11 a.m. Thursday with calling one hour prior at Zion Lutheran Church, 2313 S. Hanna St. Calling also 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Mungovan and Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 S. Calhoun St. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #82. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to War Memorial Shrine, St. Mary's Soup Kitchen, or Zion Lutheran Church.
