Mary C. Smith-Olson, 90, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 in Fort Wayne. Born in Wichita Falls, TX, Mary worked at Lincoln National Life Insurance for 24 years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church Arcola. She volunteered for Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, St. Joseph Hospital and Covington Manor Nursing Home. She enjoyed traveling, bingo and dining out. Surviving are her daughters, Carol A. (Don) Terman and Kathie J. Crabill both of Fort Wayne; son, James E. (Cheryl) Smith of Fort Wayne; step-sons, Michael (Kathleen) Olson of Fort Wayne, James S. Olson of Celebration, FL, Frederick Olson, Richard (Elise) Olson, Joseph Olson and Charles Olson all of Fort Wayne; step-daughters, Marilyn (John) McArdle of Austin, TX, Phyllis (James) Millhouse of Fort Wayne, Victoria Gates of Coldwater, MI and Patricia (William) Rivera of Fort Wayne; sisters, Louise Subzda of Fort Wayne, and Alice Harber of Columbia City, IN; Step daughter in law Jan Olson of Fort Wayne. 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren . Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Smith, second husband, Richard Olson, brother, Samuel Buchanan and step-son John Olson. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 am, September 1, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Arcola with calling one hour prior. Fr. Cyril Fernandez officiating. Calling will also be Friday, August 31, 2012 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a vigil at 4:30 pm at Mungovan and Sons Funeral Home 2114 S. Calhoun. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
