John David Oswald, 64, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at his daughter’s home in Texas of ALS. John was a lifelong resident of in Fort Wayne, IN. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. For the last 16 year he has worked as Maintenance Director for Georgetown Place. He was a Volunteer for the Washington Township Fire Department and the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Vice & Narcotics Division.
Surviving are his mother, Jenny Oswald; daughter, Dorice (Gregory) Oswald-Thompson of Round Rock, TX; son, Chad Oswald of Indianapolis, IN; brothers, Jerry (Toby) Oswald, Byron (Tammy) Oswald and Ken Oswald; sisters, Becky (David) Jewel, Marty (Aaron) Meyer and Pam
(Doug) Gadson; grandchildren, Maxwell, Samuel, Benjamin and Adeline Thompson and Paige Oswald. John was preceded in death by his father, John Robert Oswald. Visitation is Saturday 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm and Service is 10:30am Sunday at D. O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
A memorial has been established in John's name with the Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78759.
