Jeffery P. Close, 38, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs, FL. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Jeffery graduated from Northrop High School in 1990. He had worked as a District Manager with Burlington Coat Factory. He attended Memorial Baptist Church of Fort Wayne. Jeffery loved music and was very talented in dance, sports, and track. He was an avid fan of Lucille Ball. Surviving are his mother, Sandra Woods of Tarpon Springs, FL; father, Phillip Close of Fort Wayne; brother, Wesley (Becky) Filler of Ft. Wayne; 3 nieces and 1 nephew; grandmother, Darleen Potts of Fort Wayne. Jeffery was preceded in death by grandparents Walter and Caroline Close; grandfather, Donald Potts; and his 2 cats, Monet and Babsie. Service is 2pm Monday at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with Rev. David Mitchell officiating with calling one hour prior. Visitation is Sunday 2 to 5pm & 7 to 9pm. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Aids Foundation, 995 Market St., Suite 200 San Francisco CA. 94103.
