Helen J. Kessler, 78, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at her home. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the John Chapman Kiwanis Club. She was a realtor for Century Twenty One retiring in 1994. Helen was a loving caregiver to her family and friends. She was very active in multiple organizations that served the community. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Joseph W. Kessler Sr. of Fort Wayne, daughter, Elizabeth (Norb) Nagel of Fort Wayne, sons, Joseph (Deb) Kessler Jr., Phillip (Donna) Kessler both of Fort Wayne, 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, sisters, Phyllis Smola of Ludlow, MA, and Lorraine (Harry) Madsen of Wall, NJ. Helen was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Mary Smola, brothers, Joseph and Robert Smola. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 26, 2011 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with calling one hour prior Fr. Thomas Shoemaker officiating. Calling at D. O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road Friday, November 25, 2011 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm with Vigil service at 7:30 pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
