Ellen Kerns , 71, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Newfoundland, Canada, Ellen worked in the food service department at St. Francis University for 15 years, She was a member of AMVETS POST # 33 and VFW # 1421. Surviving are her sons, Ricky (Anne) Kerns of Fort Wayne, and Billy Corcoran of Alberta Canada, daughter, Jackie Kerns of Fort Wayne, grandchildren, Raven, Zachary , Nathaniel, Ricky Jr., Ryan, Daniel, BJ and Tanya Great Grandchildren, Ricky III, Daniel II, Elijiah, Isaiah and Taylin . Ellen was preceded in death by husband, Frank Kerns. Funeral Service is Thursday, 10:00 am, October 13, 2011 at - D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue with calling one hour prior. Fr. Robert D'Souza officiating. Calling also Wednesday, October 12, 2011 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the family .
