Clester "Cles" Harlen Platt, 92, a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, passed away, Tuesday, August 1 at Heritage Park. His wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He led a very rich life doing for others and serving his Lord. He was a dedicated usher and member of two churches, Till Rd. Christian and First Baptist Church of Leesburg, Florida. He was a service station owner, a carpenter and a General Electric machinist. His interest was fishing, puttering, flowers, and travel. He was very much a "do it yourselfer." He was a life long Masonic member with the Wayne Lodge. During his lifetime, he and his late wife of 64 years, Violet traveled to nearly every state. He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Sharon (Roger) Gorsuch and four granddaughters, Pam (Mike) Davenport, Cheryl (Duane) Meyers, Kim (Bill) Proxmire and Kelly Gorsuch. Also surviving are three great grandchildren, Jason Fields, Jenna Fields and Gabriella Proxmire. He had a very rich life and will leave a large void to all who knew and loved him. Service is 10 a.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Rev. Richard Foust officiating. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials to Till Rd Christian Church building Fund.
