Barbara J. Luce, 76, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Progressive Care Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born on July 15, 1934, she worked as an Accountant with Magnavox and ITT. She was a 52 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Fort Wayne Unit 82. She served as past president unit officer and unit chairman on several committees. Barbara was a 43 year partner for the American Legion Auxiliary 8/40 La Boutique Des Huit Chapeaux Et Quarante Femmes, Fort Wayne, Indiana, salon 176 serving as past Le Chapeau and chaired several committees during her lifetime. She loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Ted Luce of Fort Wayne; daughters, Nancy (Jim) Grubb of Angola, and Tammy (Deron) Ballenger of Fort Wayne; son, Gregory Luce of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Kerri (Justin) Williams, Brooke Schmitz, Andrew (Amy) Schmitz all of Fort Wayne, and Cassie Luce of Mallie, KY, Teri (David) Predina of Fort Wayne, Chris Luce of FL, and Jill Luce of Fort Wayne; great-grandchildren, Kallie, Memphis, and Charli Williams, and Dylan Todd. Babara was preceded in death by her son, Darren, sister, Thelma Lee; and brother, Fred Shaw. Service is 2 p.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd. Calling from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. American Legion Auxiliary Service is 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with American Legion Auxiliary 8/40 service follows.
