William "Bill" W. Briggs, 78, departed this life on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was an Arkansas native who came to Fort Wayne in 1961. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Gertrude Briggs. He was employed and retired from Zollner Piston after 40 years of service. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Constance "Connie" Briggs; 3 children, Krista (Richard) Wattley, Curtis Briggs, and Steve Briggs; his siblings, Willie Briggs, Stella Jenkins, Roberta Gilliam, and Luberta DeHoney; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and acquaintances. Bill was preceded in death by his brother LS Briggs, and sister, Clara Dean Gilbert. Service is 2:00 pm, Monday, March 19, 2018 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 3705 South Anthony Blvd., with calling one hour prior. Bill will be remembered for loving the Lord and was faithful to his church. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church. To sign the online guest book, go to
