Willard R. York, 82, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017. Born in Middlesboro, KY, Willard was the son of the late George and Delia York. He was a truck driver for Scotts Foods for 19 years prior to his retirement. Willard was an avid collector of model cars, coins and enjoyed watching westerns. He was blessed with the gift of music. He wrote, sang and played Bluegrass on his guitar. His unique, and larger than life personality made many friends, including the staff at Halls Hollywood Restaurant. Surviving are his children, Sheila (Rick) Stephens of Laotto, Betty York, Teresa Green both of Ridgecrest, CA, Michele (Ron) McAfee of Tampa, FL, Renee (Steve) Wood of Covington, LA, Jeff York of Lexington, KY; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings, Earl and Kenneth York, Mae Caine, Wanda McCue, Jean Breidert, and Mary Lee Zell. Willard was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene York, siblings, Stanley and Charlie York, and Helen Gilbert. Service is 11:00 am, Monday, February 13, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with calling one hour prior. Calling at the funeral home Sunday, February 12, 2017, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
