Walter "Walry" Lee Mock, 77, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Mock was born on October 23, 1941 in Natchez, MS to Walter Logan Senior and Josephine (Bell) Dixon. In 1961, he graduated from Sadie D. Thompson High School. He served his country honorably with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1961-1966. On July 22, 1967, he married his wife of 52 years Wilhelmina Toomer. Walter worked for International Harvester/ Navistar as a machinist for 42 years before retiring. He was a member of Greater Progressive Baptist Church in Fort Wayne. Walter loved to take care of his lawn and snow plow for his neighbors and friends. He enjoyed watching basketball and football. Walter was a true family man and loved to take care of his wife, children, grandchildren, and loved ones. Survivors include his wife, Wilhelmina, 6 children; Paula (Anthony) Hubbard, Kimberly Mock, Tina (William) Mock-Lyles, Ferlondo Toomer, Adrian (Bernie) Mock-Grinstead, Serena Young, 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 8 siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers; John Mock and Huey Dennis. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 from 5-9pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Funeral service with Military honors to follow will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 11am with calling one hour prior from 10-11am at Greater Progressive Baptist Church 2215 John St., Fort Wayne, IN 46803. Burial will take place Monday, April 15, 2019 at 1pm at Marion National Cemetery on Monday. Memorial donations may be directed to Greater Progressive Baptist Church.
