Virginia Vera "Ginny" Hollister, 98, passed from this life into her heavenly home on July 6, 2017. She was born on April 17, 1919 in Detroit, Michigan. Throughout her life she enjoyed many roles. She was above all a mother first, but was involved as a secretary in the family business, and in her later years was a volunteer at Lutheran Hospital and proceeded to become a paid employee for total service of eighteen years. She left their employ one month shy of her ninetieth birthday. She was an avid reader and often said she traveled the world through her books. She read a book a day until age ninety-six. She was a woman of great faith and served in many capacities in the churches that she attended throughout her life. She is survived by her children, Judith (John) Sauer of Fort Wayne, Diane (Bud) Marbaugh of Albion, IN, Virginia Ricks of Fort Wayne, Russell (Sheryl) Hollister of Ossian, IN, and Patricia (Rick) Phipps of San Diego, CA, and sister-in-law Ruth Burk of Warren, MI. She leaves behind twelve grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and seventeen great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Robert, parents, Edith Burk and Raymond Kain, stepfather Leonard Burk, brother Richard Burk, and great-granddaughter, Amber Lynn Moore. Funeral service is 11:00 am Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Chapel, 2505 West Hamilton Road South, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to the service. Calling also from 2:00 pm -4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, July 14, 2017 at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers preferred memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity,, Guide Dogs for the Blind,, or the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at
