Virginia R. Bokern nee Juergens, 85, was given to God April 23, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, IN. Born in St. Louis, MO a few minutes after her identical twin, she was the executive assistant at the Fort Wayne Philharmonic for 20 years until her retirement in 1997. Virginia was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Fort Wayne since 1975 where she also served as Deacon. She was a 50 year member of Eastern Star and a past Worthy Matron of Haddonfield, NJ Chapter. Virginia was also a member of Daughters of the Nile, past co-president of the St. Louis Twins Club with twin sister Dolores Alspach, and a member of the Georgetown Crochet Club. Virginia loved gardening, concerts, crocheting, and hosting family celebrations. Surviving are son, Richard (Carolyn) Bokern Jr. of Fort Wayne; daughters Janet Palfey of Fairfax, VA and Diane (Gary) Bock of Columbia City, IN; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Richard; twin sister, Dolores Alspach of Columbia, IL; son-in-law, William J. Palfey Jr. of Fairfax, VA; brother, Charles Juergens of DeSoto, MO, and parents, Charles H.W. and Helen Juergens nee Rose of St. Louis, MO. Service is 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, 300 W. Wayne St. with calling one hour prior. Calling also at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd, on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm with an Eastern Star service at 7:00 pm. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Wayne, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
