Vicki Lynn Brubaker, 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, June 23, 2017. She was born on October 7, 1952 in Fort Wayne, IN, the daughter of the late Joe and Carol Golembiewski. Vicki graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1971. During her senior year of High School she began working at Maloley's Deli, where she worked for several years. She then went on to work for Sears Corp, where she retired from in 2003. Upon her retirement, Vicki and her husband Jim opened Jim Brubaker Designs, where she worked as Vice President until her passing. Vicki loved her family and friends and had an amazing laugh that will never be forgotten. She was always kind and generous. Vicki knew no strangers, she spoke with everybody and always had a story to tell. She made everybody feel important and was never judgmental. In her spare time, Vicki enjoyed painting, entertaining, and traveling, especially to Maine in the Fall. Surviving are husband of 41 years, Jim Brubaker; children, Pete Brubaker, and Courtney Marie Roller; grandchildren, Dylan M., Andrew Jacob, and Reagan Lou Roller; sister, Shelley Sorg; and her dog, Murphy Brown. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 11AM at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Visitation will take place Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 also at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurses of Fort Wayne.
