Verna R. Kyle, 99, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Ashton Creek Health and Rehab in Ft. Wayne. Born in Valparaiso, IN, Verna worked as a beauty operator in her home until she was 83 years old. She was a member and founding member of North Christian Church. She loved baking and gardening. She enjoyed helping her husband, Erwin, paint the black and white photos he took and developed. She loved her family and will be greatly missed. Surviving are her children, James Montoney of Sarasota, FL, Vance (Joyce) Kyle of Columbia City, IN, Barbara (Joseph) Fink of Fort Wayne, IN, Nancy (Don) Cromwell of Waco, TX, Joan (David) Hoagland of Fort Wayne, IN, and Bob (Vernita) Montoney of Port Ludlow, WA;19 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Verna was preceded in death by spouse, Erwin Montoney; father, Vernon Shurr, mother, Hazel Shurr; sister, Helen Herlitz; and brothers, Emerson Shurr and Harvey Shurr. Service is 10:00 am, Friday, February 23, 2018 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home. Calling at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Thursday, February 22, 2018, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial in Graceland Cemetery, 1505 E.
