Travis H. Freeman, 76, passed away on August 22, 2017. He was born May 28, 1941 in Pontiac, MI, the son of the late Andrew and Ottie Freeman. He served in the Army during Vietnam War as a Staff Sargent. Travis was a member of the VFW in Fenton, MI, the American Legion in Indianapolis, IN, UAW Local #2209, as well as Liberty Mills Church of the Nazarene. He worked as a Material Relief Operator at General Motors for 28 years until his retirement in 2005. Travis was also a fan of the Detroit Tigers baseball, and Michigan Football. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Rosalie Freeman; children, Dale (Tina) Freeman, Phillip Freeman, Penny Freeman, and Felisha (Chris) Backlund; 3 grandchildren, Breanna, Jacob, and Emmett Backlund; siblings, Janet Gibson, and Patricia Tate. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 11 AM at the Liberty Mills Church of the Nazarene 10621 Liberty Mills Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804, and calling 1 hour prior. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 27th, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805 from 2 PM to 6 PM. Entombment to take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900 Arlington, VA 22202.
