Thomas R. "Big T" Vogt, 72, went in peace to be with our Lord and Savior, Friday, February 10, 2017 in Fort Wayne, IN. Born in Kokomo, IN, Tom graduated in 1963 from Kokomo HS and earned his Bachelors in Business from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN in 1968. He enjoyed a successful career as an insurance agent with Allstate, retiring after 34 years in 2005. During his career, Tom won many national awards with the company, many times over. He was President of the National Association of Life Underwriters. He earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Life Underwriter Training Council (LUTC). Tom served many years and was instrumental with the building and developing of the Georgetown Little League program in the 70's and 80's. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Tom enjoyed traveling the world and trips to Las Vegas. Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Thenia Vogt of Fort Wayne, IN; sons, Allen (Karen) Vogt of Tahoe, CA; Darren (Jennifer) Vogt of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Gaven, Carson, Parker, and Nina; brother, Dan (Cindy) Vogt of Killingworth, CT. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Sheldon and Laura Augusta Vogt. Service is 3:00 pm, Thursday February 16, 2017 at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with, calling one hour prior, with Pastor Rom Williams officiating. Calling also Wednesday, February 15, 2017, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home. Private burial at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
