Thomas "Bogie" E. Bogenschutz, 92, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Thomas was a 1943 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He worked for Fruehauf Trailer Corp for 39 years, retiring in 1985. Thomas proudly served his country as a member of Army Air Corp during World War II in the China, Burma, and India theater of operations and also served in the South Pacific. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his children, Barbara (David) Pisula, Steven (Thea) Bogenschutz, Mary (Matthew) Lindsay, Martha (Yemeru) Kebede, Timothy Bogenschutz, Michelle (Steve) Ludwiski all of Fort Wayne; daughters-in-law, Bonnie Bogenschutz and Ann Bogenschutz both of Fort Wayne; 21 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Thomas was preceded in death by wife, Mary Ellen Bogenschutz; son, David Bogenschutz; parents, Carl and Celeste Bogenschutz; brothers, James Bogenschutz and Robert Bogenschutz. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am, Monday, September 11, 2017 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Dr, with calling one hour prior. Calling also Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd, with a Rosary service at 4:00 pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
