Thoburn "Toby" D. Hatch, 73, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at his home in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Toby was the son of the late William and Jeanette Hatch. He graduated from North Side High School class of 1962. Toby was in the printing industry throughout his working career which included being president of Indigo Printing and Graphics. Toby was an active member of Crescent Avenue United Methodist Church where he partook in many church roles. He was most recently a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Hot Rod Association, and helped found the State of Indiana's Make A Wish Foundation Chapter. Toby was "The Car Guy." During his life he owned more than 400 cars. Working on cars and being around fellow car lovers was his great passion. Toby enjoyed watching Fox News, bird watching and traveling with his wife. Toby enjoyed being the host and entertaining family and friends. His kind, generous, loving heart to everyone will be missed. Surviving are his wife Julie Hatch of Fort Wayne; son, Hunter "Dean" (Tammy) Hatch of Great Falls, MT; daughter, Dawn (Bill) McKinley of Fort Wayne; step-children, Kristi (Dan) Lewark of Fort Wayne, Jill (Curt) Stewmon of Navarre, FL, Wendy (Daren) Sherbondy of Fort Wayne, Jami (Doug) Settle of Columbia City; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, with one on the way, along with his beloved dog Shelby. Memorial Service is 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 22, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with visitation from 12:00 pm until the service, Chaplain Michael Smith officiating. Visitation also at the funeral home Wednesday, June 21, 2017, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse Hospice or Donor's Choice.
