Susan L. Glotzbach, 67, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne with family and friends comforting her. She was born May 5, 1950 to the late Junior and Marjorie Louise (Bretzinger) Foster, in Lafayette, IN. She graduated from Wolcott High School, Wolcott, IN, in 1968 and Purdue University in 1972. She was married on August 14, 1971 to her high school sweetheart, Ronald W. Glotzbach of Brookston, IN. She put her college degree in early childhood education to work when she started a kindergarten program at St. Joseph Hessen Cassel School in 1980 and a preschool program at St. Henry Catholic School in 1982. She taught for over 17 years in the Fort Wayne area Catholic schools, 2 years as director of the child care program at the Springfield, OH YMCA and Alumni Director at Bishop Luers High School, before retiring in 2001 to care for her parents. She loved teaching young children and preparing them not only for school, but also for life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Susan also enjoyed sewing, crafts, candy making and golf, as well as leadership in the various activities and organizations in which she participated. After retirement, she enjoyed time with her parents, volunteering at her church, being with her children and grandchildren, traveling and enjoying many close friendships she developed over the years. She initiated a prayer blanket ministry at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish and was active in their Seton Society ministry, the church library and office support projects. She was a member of the Seton Society at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Fort Wayne, IN, American Legion Auxiliary in Remington, IN and the Jorgensen YMCA in Fort Wayne, IN. Surviving are her husband, Ronald Glotzbach, daughter, Angela (Darrin) Dick of Avon, IN, Son, Matthew (Krista) Glotzbach of Menlo Park, CA, grandson, Bryan Dick and granddaughters Alexandra and Reese Glotzbach and Kristina and Kendra Dick. She was preceded in death by parents Junior and Marge Foster, and her brother, Homer (Butch) Foster. Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 am Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with calling 1 hour prior. Calling also Monday, March 19, 2018 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd, with a Rosary service at 8 pm. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, 8326 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne, IN. Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Blanket Ministry or mass intentions, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804, or Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, 5910 Homestead Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46814.
