Steven Alan Wahl, age 66, of Fort Wayne, lost his battle with brain cancer Sunday, August 20, 2017 in Pinckney, MI. He is survived by: his wife of 46 years, Sharon; children Nicole (Ryan) Melching of Fort Wayne, Brandon (Monica) Wahl of Pinckney, MI, and Brittany Wahl of Fort Wayne; parents James and Betty Wahl of Fort Wayne; grandchildren Connor and Ava Melching, Jacob Irwin and Adriana Wahl; brother Jeff (Jan) Wahl of Fort Wayne; several nieces and nephews; and a spiritual family that is too numerous to count.

Loving husband, attentive father, adoring grandfather, hard worker. Steve owned several businesses over the years and retired from Rug Doctor in 2016. The Steve Wahl "Selling with Passion" award will be given annually because he was an example "to all employees of passion, knowledge, and a positive attitude." Steve demonstrated passion for excellence in all areas of his life. His love of writing was expressed in over 200 songs and poems for his family and friends. His strong desire to help people and bring praise to his creator, Jehovah God, was the motivating force behind everything he did. Steve was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1966 and spent the next 51 years teaching others about the Bible and its wonderful hope. He also volunteered countless hours in a special hospital-based ministry that helped those dealing with critical health challenges. The connections he made with the friends he served were unbreakable. Steve had the ability to make anyone he noticed feel special because he was truly unique. His legacy will carry on that sincere and wholesome tradition of being dreamers, musicians, model workers, and utterly capable in any venture they choose. Not only will everyone remember his voice saying, "Steve Wahl, here!" but the impact he has made is what will be truly unforgettable.

Service is Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Rhinehart Music Center on the campus of IPFW. Calling will begin at 1:00 pm and a memorial talk will be given by Kent Benson at 3:00 pm.
