Stephan R. Smith, 62, passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at Lutheran Life Villages at Pine Valley in Fort Wayne. He was born in Flint, MI, on May 8, 1955, the son of the late Roy Smith. Stephan worked as a Truck Driver for 30 years before his retirement in 2011. He enjoyed working on cars and collecting trains. Steve loved going to Tigers games and Lions games. Surviving are his mother, Jo Smith; wife of 40 years, Carol S. Smith; sons, Sean (Becky) Bailer, Norman (Debbie) Smith, Paul Smith; grandchildren, Vaughan, Spencer, Kennedy and Melissa; brothers, Kelly (Cassie) Smith, Brett (Stephanie) Smith, and Rusty Smith; sisters, Scarlett (Ryan) Smith, Tammy (Dennis) Whittum, Amy (Jim) Lusk; and his beloved dogs, Sasha & Precious. Stephan was preceded in death by his grandson, Brad Young; and father and mother-in-law, Norman and Helen Robbins. Funeral service will be at 2pm on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with calling from 11-2. Burial will take place in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the grandchildren's college fund in care of Carol Smith.
