Sharon Colbert, 71, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Sharon was the daughter of the late Henry Verseput and Nelva Verseput who survives. She worked for Concordia Theological Seminary for several years prior to her retirement. Sharon enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, spending time with her family and going to their school activities. She also loved animals. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, M. Kay Colbert of Fort Wayne; mother, Nelva Verseput of Winona Lake; children, Jeffery (Candy) Colbert of Warsaw, Bruce (Rebecca) Colbert of Fort Wayne, Rhonda (Thomas) Timbrook of Hicksville, OH, Shay Colbert of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren; brother, Gary (Joyce) Verseput of Aurora, IL; and her dogs, Mars and Betty. Service is 4:00 pm, Friday, October 20, 2017 at Crossbridge Community Church, 3409 Hursh Rd with calling from 2:00 pm until the service, Rev. Bruce Colbert officiating. Memorials may be made to the Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control. D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
