Scot Hays Corn, 51, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born in West Point, NY, Scot grew up in Deerfield, IL and fell in love with the outdoors on boyhood canoe trips in the Minnesota Boundary Waters. He graduated from the University of Colorado where he became passionate about hiking, snowboarding, and cycling, especially racing on his mountain bike. He was a loving friend to all. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Corn of Fort Wayne; his father, John H. Corn of Sagamore Beach, MA; his uncle and wife, Joseph and Wanda Corn of Sagamore Beach, MA; his grandmother, Hester McCallister; and his seven year old daughter, Olive B. Corn, and Olive's mother, Sonya Leonard, both of Doha, Qatar. Scot was preceded in death by his grandparents: Rev. Claude McCallister and Joseph and Margery Corn. A Memorial Celebration is 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Woodburn United Methodist Church, Woodburn, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Scot's daughter's 529 Education Plan, c/o Ruth Corn, 917 W. Sherwood Terrace, Fort Wayne, IN 46807.
