Sandra J. McAlkich, 73, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at her home in Fort Wayne. Born in Houtzdale, PA, to the late Herman and Minty Smeal. Sandra graduated from Moshannon Valley HS in 1962 and earned her accounting degree from Indiana University. She was a self-employed accountant for several years. Sandra and her husband William had accomplished her bucket list of spending at least one night in all 50 states. She loved traveling and often planned their destinations around the location of a golf course, casino or bingo hall. Sandra was an avid fisherman, hunter and bowler and was a Steelers and Penn State football fan as well as little league and professional baseball. Surviving are her loving husband of almost 54 years, William J McAlkich of Fort Wayne, IN sons, Steven (Marty) McAlkich of Huntertown IN; Stuart M (June Rogers) McAlkich of Avilla, IN; brother, Gary (Diane) Smeal of Newfane, NY; 6 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren . Sandra was preceded in death by son, Scott A McAlkich, grandson Kyle McAlkich, brothers, Elwood and Norman Smeal. Service is 7:00 pm, Wednesday February 7, 2018 at- D.O.
