Samuel Germano, 93, passed away on April 14, 2018. He was born on September 8, 1924 in Harlan County, KY, the son of the late Joseph and Lucille Germano. Samuel served as a Corporal in the Air Force from 1943 to 1945 where he received a Good Conduct Medal, a World War II Victory Medal, a European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, and 4 bronze stars. Samuel worked at Phelps Dodge Wire as a supervisor for 20 years before his retirement. He is survived by his sons, Mark (Cindy) Germano, and Keith (Johanna) Germano; grandchildren, Matthew Germano and Sara Germano; and great-grandchildren, Anthony, Jordan and Owen; sisters, Audrey McCarthy and Josephine Bailey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Germano in 1979; siblings, Lloyd and Frank Germano; and companion, Patricia Stanley. Funeral service will take place Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 10AM with calling 1 hour prior at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8pm also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Facility of the donor's choice.
