Roselyn Reed "Fritzie" Westenfeld passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Parkview Home Hospice. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on June 14th, 1931. Her grandfather, a German immigrant, felt that the name Roselyn was too long and nicknamed her Fritzie. She attended South Side High School, graduating with honors and on a snowy Easter Sunday, April 9, 1950, she married Garry Westenfeld. They lived happily ever after, enjoying the family pool, weekly pool parties and eventually, life at the horse ranch until his passing in 1982.
She worked in International Harvester's Data Processing department for thirty years, retiring in 1982 and then worked another thirty-four years as the Financial Reporting Secretary for Messiah Lutheran Church, retiring once again in 2016. She enjoyed dancing, especially the polka, was a big fan of Dancing With the Stars, watching figure skating, and was a meticulous crocheter. Fritzie was always generous with her time and service to others, never too busy to help in any way. She enjoyed doting on her children and grandchildren, loved the beach and enjoyed annual trips to Florida with her daughter.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy; son Rick and his wife, Carol, their children, Leslie (Adam) Baron, Alex Westenfeld and Adrienne Westenfeld and a great-grandchild, Jaxson Baron. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garry.
Services will be held at D. O. McComb & Sons - Pine Valley on Saturday, September 22nd at 11:00 a.m. with calling at 10:00 a.m., and with calling from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21st. She will be interred at Lindenwood Cemetery in a private ceremony at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or Parkview Home Hospice.
