Ronald "Scott" D. Simpson, 74, died Sat. Feb. 11, 2017 at Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born Dec. 11, 1942 in Wabash, IN, Scott was the son of Benny and the late Doris (Durnbaugh) Simpson. He did copy writing, photography, and media production for several companies, including Fort Wayne Newspapers, Lincoln National Life, Lincoln Museum, WFFT-TV, and Colburn Advertising. In 2006 he started Simpson's Research, working most recently for the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center. He was a member of Mensa International. Personal interests included 3D puzzles, Monty Python, pocket billiards, Ansel Adams' photography.
Surviving are his wife, Dayna (Harader) Simpson of Fort Wayne; and his three children, Kim (Kent) Hosier of Decatur, Michael (Jennifer Lorinsky) Simpson of Indianapolis and Daniel (Shauna Boen) Simpson of Yuma, AZ. Also surviving are grandchildren Christian, Alan, Meagan, Cassandra, Lara and David; his father Benny Simpson of Fort Wayne; his brother Mitchell Simpson of Lincoln, IL; and a nephew and nieces Christopher, Liberty and Megan.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Sat., Feb. 25, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, with calling one hour prior. Visitation at the funeral home is 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Fri., Feb. 24. Burial is in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
