Ronald Baber, 76, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at Canterbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Kokomo, IN, Ron owned Creditors Protection Service in Ft Wayne for many years. Ron met the love of his life, his wife of 53 years, while stationed in Germany. They enjoyed traveling the world together and raising their family. They were partners and best friends. He had a keen intellect and an unfaltering curiosity about the world. He could discuss Plato, and then with as much enthusiasm play video games with his grandchildren. He enjoyed great food, great music and international soccer. His hobbies were chess, short wave radio and staying current with technology. His favorite thing was spending time with his wife and children and their families. A long time member of Mensa, he was a skillful debater on many topics. He marched to the beat of his own drum and enjoyed going against the grain. His greatest pride were his six grandchildren of which he could not be more proud or have greater love. He always saw the best in people, and never a harsh word or thought against anyone. He had a young spirit and positive outlook. The family will have a private ceremony. Those interested may make contributions to the Artificial Kidney Project at UCSF online. Surviving are his Spouse, Rosemarie Baber; daughters, Heidi (Mike) Biltz of Fort Wayne and Jenny Baber of Oregon; son, Andrew (Kami) Baber of Oregon; sister, Becky Lord of Kokomo; 6 grandchildren; and1 great-grandchild. Ronald was preceded in death by father, Lester Baber and mother, Oma Baber. To sign the online guest book, go to www.mccombandsons.com.
