Robert G. Claypool, 91, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Bethlehem Woods Rehab Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Whitesville, KY, Robert had a deep faith and unwavering integrity. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, and retired as a Postmaster following his military career. He was a member of Northridge Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Surviving are his son, Stephen (Gay) Claypool of White House, TN; Daughters, Karen Claypool of Chattanooga, TN and Laura (Michael) Rodenbeck of Ossian, IN; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; Brothers, Tommy (Milly) Claypool of Owensboro, KY and Jerry (Libby) Claypool of Shelbyville, KY. Robert was preceded in death by wife, Clara Claypool, Father, Chester Claypool, Mother, Sarah Claypool, Brothers, Chester Claypool, John "Jack" Claypool, and James "Harry" Claypool; and Sisters, Mildred Wilder and Jesse Johnson. Service is 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with Rev. Jim Moser officiating. Calling at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, Tuesday, May 30, 2017, 2:00 - 4:00 pm & 6:00 - 8:00 pm and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
