Robert F. Rose, 94, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Robert worked with Indiana Michigan Power for 43 years, where he began as a meter reader and retired as a manager. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Robert proudly served as a member of the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the Fort Wayne Radio Club, the Parkview Senior Club, and the American Legion. Robert enjoyed woodworking, fishing, following the weather, and most of all family gatherings. Surviving are his children, Carol Creek of Bluffton, IN, Alice (Ronald) Perkins of Thompsonville, IL, Edward (Kathy) Rose of Fort Wayne, Paul Rose of Fort Wayne, Clara (Jeff) Potts of Fort Wayne, and Doris (Ken) Melvin of Schererville, IN; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by wife, Mary Rose; parents, Herman and Clara Rose; 2 grandchildren; and sister, Velma Rose. Service is 10:30 am, Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave with calling one hour prior. Calling also Monday, June 26, 2017 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Heartland Hospice and Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
