Rita D. Sheirbon, 70, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Shanandoah, IA, She was a graduate of Indiana University, and was a social worker for Arc of Fort Wayne, The American Cancer Society, Catholic Charities, Job Works and Goodwill. She also volunteered at Erin's House and Study Elementary School. Rita collected antiques and enjoyed decorating. Surviving are her husband, Terry L. Sheirbon of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Bonnie (Joseph) Mautz of Naperville, IL; grandchildren, Maggie (Jeff) Moore of San Francisco, CA. and Bradley Mautz of Naperville, IL; sister, Terry (Carl) Christensen of Albuquerque, NM; nieces, Me'l Christensen of Port Townsend, WA. and Amy Christensen of Albuquerque, NM; nephew, Eric Christensen of Coda de Casa, CA. and her loving dog Gracie. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Garland and Gladys Bennett. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Saturday, March 12, 2016, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at D.O.
