Rick (Rickie) N. Smith , 63, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at IU Med Center in Indianapolis. Born in Fort Wayne, Rick worked at Steel Dynamics, Korte Paper, and Eagle Picher Plastics for many years. He graduated North Side High School in 1972 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church - St. Joe Center Road and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, Rick loved to travel and adored his children, Bandit, Ginger, and Mocha. Surviving are his partner Allan Mack of Fort Wayne; son, Chad N Smith of North Las Vegas, NV; brothers, Donald E. (Dawnita) Smith and Ronald C. (Wanda) Smith both of Fort Wayne; former Wife, Charlene Smith of Fort Wayne, many nieces, nephews and cousins and friends; uncle, David (Paula) Crowe of Harlingen, TX; and aunt, Peggy Adkins of Huntington. Rick was preceded in death by father, Richard N. Smith; mother, Joyce A. Smith, grandmother, Marjorie Smith and Myrtle Crowe, and grandfather, John W Smith and Lawrence Crowe. Service is 11:00 am, May 16, 2017 at - D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Harris officiating with calling one hour prior to the service. Calling at - D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road Monday, May 15, 2017, 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
