Richard (Rick) Marx, 69, died Sunday, September 3, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Port Huron, Michigan, on September 9, 1947, to LaVern and Helen Marx. He had an accounting degree from Wayne State University and a master's degree in taxation from Walsh College. He retired from Irmscher, Inc. after 26 dedicated years, in 2013; in addition, he worked in public accounting at Touche Ross in Detroit. Rick was a devout member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Rick is survived by his wife of 40 years Pamela Marx; daughters Christine (Kevin) Espeset of Lakeville, Minnesota and Deanna Marx of Chicago, Illinois; sons Brian (Emilie) Marx of Brownsburg, Indiana and Dr. John (Erika) Marx of Fort Wayne; 5 grandchildren: Jacob, Zachary, Nicholas, and Elise Espeset, and Isaac Marx; his mother, Helen Marx of Brighton, Michigan; brothers Gary (Mary Anne) Marx of Highland, Michigan and Dennis (Debbie) Marx of Port Huron, Michigan, and several nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his father, LaVern Marx.
Mass of Christian Burial is, Friday, September 8, 2017, 10:30 am. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road, with Father Polycarp Fernando officiating, with an hour of visitation prior to the Mass. Calling at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road Thursday, September 7, 2017, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Vigil, Thursday, September 7, 2017, - in the funeral home at 3:30 pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
