Richard R. Monn, 88, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Richard worked at Fort Wayne National Bank 45 years serving in many different roles, most recently as a Vice President. He was an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Richard was a Delegate to the Lutheran Social Services and the Lutheran Foundation, a Salvation Army Board Member, a chairman of the Salvation Army Kettle Counters, an honorary Director of the Concordia Lutheran High School Educational Foundation, and a 58 year member of the McMillion Park Lion's Club where he served in many different positions. Surviving are his children, Jeffrey Monn of Fort Wayne, Valerie (Emad) Anwar of Grand Prairie, TX, David Monn of Indianapolis, IN, and Julie (Micheal) Smith of Indianapolis, IN; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Donna (Paul) Fritze, Harriet Stennfeld, and Janice Hitzemann all of Fort Wayne, IN; and brother, Larry "Butch" (Debbie) Monn of Fishers, IN. Richard was preceded in death by wife of 42 years, Claudia Monn; and his parents, Harry and Alma Monn. Service is 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Concordia Lutheran Church, 4245 Lake Ave with calling one hour prior. Calling also at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a Lion's Club service at 8:00 pm. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Concordia Lutheran Church, Salvation Army, or Concordia Lutheran High School.
