Richard L. Callen, 89, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born in Mystic, IA, Richard was the son of the late Gilbert and Edith Callen. Richard was a District Sales Manager with Norfolk & Southern for 41 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, and playing cards. Surviving are his sons, Gary (Yung-Feng Liu) Callen of Charles City, IA, Rick Callen of Fort Wayne; sister, Doris (Wayne) Christy of Centerville, IA; and brother-in-law, Elmer Clayton. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Callen; daughter, Barbara Ann Callen; sisters, Crystal Wiand, Virginia Clayton, and Beverly Olson. Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 am, Monday, December 19, 2016 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church with calling one hour prior, Fr. Mark Gurtner officiating. Calling at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road Sunday, December 18, 2016, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
