Raymond Hilaire, 86, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 in Fort Wayne. Born in Jeremie, Haiti, Raymond moved his family to Fort Wayne in 1969. He began his career with Ford Motors as a truck mechanic and most recently was the owner and operator of Raymond's Garage for 25 years, retiring in 2005. Raymond was a member St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Skeet Shooting Club, and the Canterbury French Club. Surviving are his wife, Antonine Hilaire of Fort Wayne; sons, Richard Hilaire of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Dr. James Hilaire of Indianapolis, IN, and Daniel (Pamela) Hilaire of Fort Wayne; daughters, Nissa Hilaire of Orange County, CA and Cassandra (Anthony) Wurmel of Colorado Springs, CO; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Claude Hilaire and Carl (Victoire) Hilaire both of New York, NY. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Clevrain and Lunie Hilaire; and sister, Marise Trouillot. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am, January 12, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with calling one hour prior. Calling also at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
