Ray Harris Sr., 81, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 at his residence in Fort Wayne. He was born in Elwood, TX to the late H. Ray and Pauline Harris. He married Judy Schulze and she survives. Ray served honorably in the United States Air Force, the U.S. Postal Service, was a contractor for the United States Army, and was a founding member of The Pointe Church. He was a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion in the Air Force and received a third degree black belt in Judo. Ray enjoyed fishing, water sports, buying and selling cars, and spending time with family. He was an extraordinary story teller. Surviving are his children, Ray R. (Lisa) Harris and Rick (Heather) Harris; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and seven siblings. Ray was also preceded in death by three siblings. Funeral service Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 1:00 pm at The Pointe Church, 5335 Bass Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Fort Cluster National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to The Pointe Church or Wounded Warriors Project.
