Ramalinga Reddy Vedira, 84, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at his residence in Fort Wayne,IN. He was born in Hyderabad, India to Gopal Vedira Reddy and Lakshmi Narsamma Reddy. He received his law degree from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India. He was an attorney practicing in civil law. He also served as a police public prosecuting officer for several years and later became an honorary Judge in the civil courts. He was the founding member of the Police Prosecuting Association back in Hyderabad, India. Ramalinga Reddy was very active in supporting the education and guidance of many families who were less fortunate back home in India. Following his retirement in 1988, he moved to the United States where he lived the latter part of his life with his family in the United States. For hobbies he loved to play tennis and badminton. He won the state tennis championship in Hyderabad and coached many young professionals, including his grandchildren in tennis. He also enjoyed traveling to visit family, watching cricket with his wife and playing cards with his family and friends. He never passed up an opportunity for a good party. Surviving are his wife Sujatha Reddy Vedira; daughter and son in law, Jyothi and Pandu K Reddy Ft Wayne, IN; two sons and daughter in laws, Gopinath and Sulochana Reddy Vedere -Hyderabad, India; Amarnath and Tanuja Vedere Palm Beach Gardens, FL.; 4 grandchildren, Keerthi R. Gonyo and spouse, Brian Gonyo, Kartheek K. Reddy, Tarunya V. Chitrapu and spouse, Srikant Chitrapu, and Akhil Vedere; 2 great-Grandchildren, Laila Gonyo and Raina Gonyo, brother Chandra Sheker, Hyderabad, India. Ramalinga was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters. Private family viewing at 9am. Public funeral service is 10:00 am, Saturday, March 4, 2017, visitation until 12:00pm - D.O.
