Patricia (Meiners) Knight, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, after a long and courageous struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Pat was a 1945 graduate of Central Catholic High School, where she excelled in English and won a national poetry award. Other schools Pat attended were Our Lady of Lourdes, Indianapolis, and St. Joseph's Academy in Tipton. She was married 56 years to the love of her life, Frank, until his death in 2004. Pat and Frank raised 6 children in St. Vincent de Paul parish. She worked with Frank in his Landscape Contracting business and was an activist in many causes important to her. Survivors include her children, Linda (Neal) McEwen of Prescott, AZ, David F. (Kate) Knight of Spring Lake, MI, Kathleen (Steve) Weller of Bloomington, IN, Mary Ann (Robert) Williams of Greenwood, IN, Kevin (Lisa) Knight of Louisville, KY, Joann (Tom) Barnhill of Indianapolis, IN, sister-in-law Florence Isaacs of Ft. Wayne, brother-in-law Richard Knight of Stow, Ohio, and 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. In addition to her beloved Frank, Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ellen (Bonfield) Meiners & William H. Meiners, brothers, William and Robert and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road on Monday, September 11, 2017, on what would have been Pat and Frank's 69th wedding anniversary. Calling will take place before the Mass, from 9:30- 11:00AM. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery alongside Pat's beloved husband, Frank. Memorials may be directed to St. Vincent de Paul Society or Matthew 25 & Dental Clinic.
Her memories had been slowly taken from her, but this good and faithful servant awakens now in the arms of her husband, Frank, and the loving embrace of her Heavenly Father.
