Michael DeSales "Mike" Disterhoft, 68, unexpectedly passed away on January 2, 2018. He was born in Iowa City, Iowa on April 11, 1949, the son of the late Clarence and Evelyn Disterhoft. Mike worked with ITT for 20 years before his retirement. He enjoyed music, especially Jazz and 70's Rock, and listening to live music, but his passion was playing the guitar. He had a very close group of McFriends that would get together daily at McDonald's, something that he always enjoyed and looked forward to. In his spare time he enjoyed landscaping and gardening. He was always on the move and enjoyed walking and rollerblading. Surviving are his wife, Jan (Rollings) Disterhoft; children, Stacy (Dave) Eckley, Kyle (Katrina) Disterhoft, and Perri Disterhoft; step-children, Danielle (Bob) Taylor, and Michael (Allison) Turcovsky; grandchildren, Deacon Eckley, Owen Disterhoft, and Baby Boy Disterhoft who is soon to make his arrival; step-grandchildren, Jacob Leon, and Wyatt Turcovsky, Joey and Mallory Taylor; and brothers, Donald (Betty), Matthew (Joy), Patrick (Danelle), Mark (Sherry), and Gregory Disterhoft. Funeral service will take place at 4pm on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46825. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 1-4pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Foundations for the Blind.
