Merle W. Long, 96, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Englewood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Noble County, Indiana on December 24, 1921 to Charles and Emma (Beers) Long. Merle graduated from Cromwell High School in 1940. He then continued his education at International Business College in Fort Wayne where he achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. On September 17, 1948, he married Betty Collier in North Manchester, Indiana. Merle worked as an Accounting Supervisor with International Harvester for 35 years, retiring in 1978. He was a Mizpah Shrine member for over 50 years, belonged to the Summit Lodge #170, Navistar Retirement Group, and Hero's Harvester Group. Merle was preceded in death by his spouse, Betty Long, father, Charles Long, and mother, Emma Long. Service is 11:00 am, June 30, 2018 at - D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with Pastor Bill Mueller officiating. Calling at - D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road Friday, June 29, 2018, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm . Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
