Max J. Nusbaum, 88 of Woodburn, passed away on November 19, 2019. Max was born on October 28, 1931 to the late Gerwood and Grace (Jones) Nusbaum. Max graduated from Harlan High School in 1949 and was joined in marriage to Pauline Thompson on June 27, 1953. Max served in the Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky during the Korean War. He was president and owner of Hoosier Truck Equipment with Pauline for many years. Max enjoyed hunting out west, fishing in the Northwest Territories, and snowmobiling in Michigan. He was a member of the Woodburn Lion's Club and attended Woodburn Missionary Church.

Max is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pauline Nusbaum; children, Debbie (Jerry) Lange, Susan (Chris) Hissong, and Joni (Calvin) Hissong; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild on the way. Max is also survived by sisters Joanne Letterman and Judy (Bob) Adams.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Woodburn Missionary Church (5108 Bull Rapids Rd, Woodburn, IN 46797) visitation beginning at 12:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Scipio Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodburn Lion's Club.
