Mary Jo Stoffer, 91, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at Miller's Merry Manor-Fort Wayne. Born in La Porte, IN, Mary Jo graduated from South Side High School. She worked with Lincoln National Life Insurance Company for many years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and the Lincolnshire Community Association. She volunteered many years at the Shawnee Library after her retirement. Mary Jo enjoyed crafting, specifically eggshell art, loved knitting and gardening. She was an avid IU basketball fan and Komets hockey fan. She loved to encourage others by sending cards and uplifting notes. Surviving are her cousins, Jon W. Fitzsimmons and Gary (Deb) Fitzsimmons both of Warsaw, IN, and Tom (Gloria) Fitzsimmons of Fishers, IN; and her god-daughter, Julie Sherf of MN. Mary Jo was preceded in death by father, Louis W. Stoffer and mother, Helen L. Stoffer. Service is 10:00 am, Monday, June 4, 2018 at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue with Pastor Michael Smith officiating. Calling at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, Monday, June 4, 2018, 8:00 am - 10:00 am. Burial in Pine Lake Cemetery, 1367 Pine Lake Rd, La Porte 46350, Monday, June 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm La Porte time and 3:00 pm Fort Wayne time.
