Mary Ann Mahler, 79, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017. Born in Terre Haute, Indiana, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Albert and Myrtle Foster. Mary Ann earned her Masters Degree from Purdue University. She was a second grade school teacher with the Hammond School System for 25 years, retiring in 2000. She was an active volunteer and member of First United Methodist Church in Lowell Indiana, and belong to Tri Kappa in Lowell. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, John Mahler of Fort Wayne; children, John Stephen (Kathy) Mahler of Highland, David (Lori) Mahler of Palmyra, VA, Sharon (Mark) Dabertin of Kennett Square, PA, Kathy (Glenn) Pushis of Leo; and nine grandchildren. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lauren Mahler, and sister, Rita Oyster. Private Family Services. D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
