Martin P. Hart, 81, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at his home in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Marty was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and served in the U.S. Army. Later he worked in many capacities at NIPSCO for 36 years, until retiring as an Operations Manager in 1990. Marty was an accomplished musician who's specific talent was on the guitar and piano, but could play numerous instruments. He was also an avid conservationist and reader who enjoyed learning about history - both globally and in Fort Wayne. Surviving are his son, Douglas (Jessica) Hart of Chicago, IL; daughter, Cynthia (Remi Munier) Hart of Paris, France; grandchildren: Margaux and Liliana Munier and Ella and Charlie Hart; former wife and friend, Maryann Wyss Hart of Delray Beach, FL; sister, Mary Ellen (Tom) Schon of Fort Wayne; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many lifelong friends. Marty was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Hilda Hart; and sisters: Agnes Hart, Rose Marie Ryan, and Jane Hart. Mass of Christian Burial is at 2:00 pm, Monday, October 26, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 2120 S. Harrison Street, Fort Wayne, with calling 1 hour prior. Fr. Jesus Briones officiating. Friends and family are invited to Calhoun Street, Soups, Salads & Spirits immediately after (1915 Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne). Memorials may be made to Nature Conservancy (www.nature.org).
