Marjorie E. Kauffman, 96, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Golden Years Homestead in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Marjorie graduated from South Side High School in 1940. She worked as an accounting clerk with GTE for 20 years, retiring in 1983. Marjorie was a member of Christ's Church at Georgetown, former past President of the Jane Adams Society, the GTE Retirement Club, Voyagers, Parkview Senior Citizens Club, and the South Side High School Alumni Club. Surviving are her son, James Coughlin, II of Fort Wayne; daughter, Connie (Marshall) Vonderau of New Haven, IN; step-daughter, Karol Adams of Fort Wayne; son-in-law, Donald Elbrecht of Fort Wayne: 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Olin Kauffman; daughter, DeAnne Elbrecht; daughter, Pamela Esterline; step-son, Michael Kauffman; parents, Carter and Flossie Bowser; and her sisters, Dorothy Buschman and Marcella Bowser. Service is 11:00 am, Saturday, June 3, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd with calling 2 hours prior beginning at 9:00 am.
