Marion Duane Hicks, 86, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN on July 7, 1930, the son of the late Marion and Thelma Hicks. Duane served in the Army, and during his service earned 3 purple hearts. At one time, he was also a member of The Masons, Eastern Star, Shiner's, Scottish Rite, and Moose Lodge. Duane was an outdoorsman, and enjoyed spending time with his family while camping, fishing, and boating. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Phyllis Hicks; children, Michael Duane (Nancy R.) Hicks, William C. (Heather J. DDS) Hicks, Cynthia E. (Lance R.) Kimmel; brother, Frank A. (Peggy) Hicks; step-siblings, Mary Ellen Rexroth, Ralph Relue; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wendel R. Hicks, Dale Hicks, and Ray Hicks; and step-brother, Norb Relue. Visitation will take place from 9am to 1pm on Friday, March 24, 2017 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park 4017 Maplecrest Road Fort Wayne, IN 46815. Funeral service will also take place at the funeral home on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 1pm. Burial will take place in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
