Marilyn Rose Waggoner, 90, of Grabill went home to Jesus on August 21, 2017. She was born in Moline, Illinois to the late Virgil and Sarah (Anders) Fleming on December 6, 1926. Her childhood years were spent in Moline, and Tampa, Florida. It was there she met USAF 2nd Lieutenant and B-17 pilot, Harry Waggoner Jr. They were married in October 1945 in Tampa. After they were married they moved back to Fort Wayne, Indiana where Harry went to work for General Electric. Marilyn was a homemaker who loved cooking and shopping. She was a loving mother of two children, daughter Carol and son, David. She worked a number of years at Montgomery Ward in Northcrest Shopping Center, in the Fine Jewelry Department, where she was one of their best customers. She and her late husband Harry, owned a lake home and RV Park at Lake Jimmerson in Fremont, Indiana. After retirement they spent summers at Lake Jimmerson and winters at The Reserve, Port St. Lucie, Florida. They sold their home in Florida and moved back to Fort Wayne in 2003. She was a member of Leo United Methodist Church. Surviving are daughter, Carol (Tom) Woodfin of Auburn, daughter-in-law, Jane Waggoner of Grabill, four grandchildren: Marc Moore of Iola, Texas, Beth Ann Staedter of Pendleton, Indiana, Andrew Waggoner of Xenia, Ohio, Aimee Esslinger of Grabill, 11 great-grandchildren and her toy poodle GIGI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 68 years Harry Waggoner Jr., son David W. Waggoner of Grabill, brother Kenneth Fleming of Indianapolis, sister Velma Marshall of Rock Island, Illinois, granddaughter Sarah Waggoner, and great grandson D.J. Owens. Service will be 2 pm, Friday, August 25, 2017 at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd, with calling from 12 pm until the service, Rev. David Heim officiating. Burial will be in Leo Memorial Cemetery, Leo, Indiana. Memorial may be made to Parkview Home, Health, and Hospice or ASPCA.
