Marilyn Kay Evans, 77, passed away at St. Anne's Home on Sunday, October 1, 2017. She was born in Burbank, California, on September 22, 1940. Marilyn graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel Academy in Dallas, Texas, in 1958. She worked for a year at the Burroughs Corporation in Dallas before moving to Fort Wayne with her family. She worked at Manavox/Raytheon in Accounts Payable from 1960 until her retirement in 2006. Marilyn enjoyed her work where she made many friends. She was known for her quick wit and sense of humor. She also enjoyed music and theater and in younger years loved to dance. Most of all, she loved spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Irene Evans. Surviving are her sisters, Carole (Dave) Venderley and Mary (Dave) Scudder; nephews, Bob (Jodi) Venderley and Mark (Chris) Scudder; great nephew, Jordan Venderley; and great nieces, Rachel Venderley, Irene Scudder, Marie Scudder, Lucy Scudder, and Phoebe Scudder. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Friday, October 6, 2017 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2101 Pemberton Drive with calling one hour prior. Fr. Bob D'Zouza officiating. Calling also Thursday October 5, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm with a Vigil at 3:30pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
